Latrice M. Allen, M.D.

Latrice M. Allen, M.D., F.A.C.O.G earned her undergraduate degree at the UCLA and her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Martin Luther King –Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Allen has been in practice since 2000, caring for patients in the South Bay at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Her practice specializes in general Obstetrics and Gynecology, high risk pregnancies, along with a variety of gynecology procedures including minimally invasive surgeries, menopause and infertility. Her interest also includes treating adolescent girls, focusing on self-esteem, identity, making healthy lifestyles choices and the changes associated with puberty.

Dr. Allen has served three times as the Vice Chair of the OB/GYN Department at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. She also served as a key member of the Perinatal Collaborative Committee (part of the Institute for Health Improvement) at Torrance Memorial. She worked with this group to implement policies and protocols to improve the quality of care and safety for both mother and child. Dr. Allen is a member of the American College of Ob/Gyn and is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Allen feels being an Ob/Gyn is like being a part of a sisterhood. She helps her patients feel empowered and encourages them to embrace every stage of womanhood. She strives to treat the entire mind and body and tailors the treatment to the specific needs of her patients; making women partners in their healthcare decisions. She is known by patients and colleagues alike for her happy positive demeanor and warm bedside manners. Her compassion, patient support and medical competency makes the referring physicians and patients feel at ease and confident in her ability to provide the best care.

When she is not caring for patients or bringing a precious life into the world, Dr. Allen loves spending time with her twins and husband. She also enjoys traveling, dancing, trying new restaurants and bonding with friends.
